CTV Integration Guide

Branch x Smadex

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An active Branch account.
  • An active Smadex account with access to campaign management.
  • Enable non-attributed data sharing.
  • An integration done between Smadex and Branch, with a given Tracking Group ID.

In case an integration has already been done for Mobile UA campaigns, Tracking Group ID will be the same as in that integration.

Step 1: Integrate postbacks

You must integrate postbacks as the first step to tracking your CTV campaign performance. To learn how to integrate postbacks, see the postback integration guide for Branch.

Step 2: Set up a view-through tracking link

At this time, you will need view-through tracking links for these campaigns to bridge the gap between the TV impression and the mobile conversion. To learn how to set up a view-through tracking link, see the tracking link setup guide for Branch.

Important: Be sure that your view-through tracking link includes the following parameters. Without these parameters, Branch is unable to handle the cross-device household attribution required for CTV.

  • %24household_measurement=true
  • %243p=a_smadex
  • ~branch_ad_format=Cross-Platform%20Display
Step 3: Configure attribution window settings

If you like, you can update the preset attribution window for your view-through tracking link. For CTV campaigns, it is recommended to review your Household Measurement Window (typically 1–7 days) to ensure enough time is given for a user to convert on a mobile device after seeing a TV ad. To learn more, see the attribution window guide from Branch.

Step 4: Register your view-through tracking link for CTV attribution

Copy over the view-through tracking link (the “Impression URL” provided by Branch) to the Smadex platform. Ensure you map the Smadex macros correctly to the corresponding Branch parameters to ensure granular reporting.

Step 5: Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
  1. Share your OneLink Impression attribution Link with Smadex, ensuring you have NAD enabled. Smadex will perform a test install to confirm everything is in place.
  2. In case the test install is not successful, either the initial integration is not correct, or any step of this guide was not applied correctly. Review all the steps and make sure it’s all in place.
  3. If issues further persist, contact Smadex and Singular teams for further assistance.
